On September 10, join celebrities from film, music and television at First Point, Surfrider Beach in Malibu for the Surfrider Foundation’s 6th Annual Celebrity Expression Session presented by Cali Bamboo.
The Celebrity Expression Session is a hour-long free surf that gives Surfrider’s celebrity supporters including Jesse Spencer (“House”), Eric Balfour (“Haven”), Sam Trammell (“True Blood”), John Slattery (“Mad Men”) and Martyn Lenoble (Porno for Pyros) the opportunity to demonstrate their surfing skills on Malibu’s famous wave, while raising funds and awareness for the Foundation to continue campaigns for clean water, open beach access, coastal preservation and special place protection.
This is the fourth year that the Malibu Surfing Association’s MSA Classic is hosting the Celebrity Expression Session, which has raised more than $25,000 to protect our world’s oceans, waves and beaches. The MSA Classic is the premier contest in the Coalition of Surfing Clubs’ annual series. This year’s MSA Classic celebrates the club’s 50th anniversary, and is expected to draw 300 athletes from some of the world’s elite surfing clubs.
In addition, San Diego-based Cali Bamboo, the premier manufacturer of green building materials made primarily from bamboo, returns for a second year as the Celebrity Expression Session’s presenting sponsor. Leading up to the event, Cali Bamboo hosted the National Greenscape Challenge to promote eco-friendly landscape and garden designs, inspired by Surfrider Foundation’s Ocean Friendly Gardens program. This year’s grand prize winner, Steven Roeder, will enjoy an all-expense paid weekend to Los Angeles to watch the Celebrity Expression Session, and enjoy a 30-minute surf session with a celebrity from the event.
So grab your towel, sunscreen and camera and head to Malibu on September 10 for a chance to catch your favorite celebrity hanging-ten at First Point.
