Designer Spotlight: Nary Manivong

A Fashion International Group Rising Star designer: Nary Manivong. He is a Laotian-American fashion designer who came from a rough upbringing, but is now proving that dreams can come true when you are persistant and work hard in what you love to do. Manivong is now design partners with Alexandria Hilfiger (daughter of Tommy Hilfiger) on their label, NAHM (meaning water in Laotian). Checkout the video below. "Dressed" is a documentary about his life and his journey to becoming a fashion designer. I am looking forward to more design work from him! <3 You can purchase NAHM designs at ASOS here.

Mixing different shades of the same color. I'm a big monochromatic outfit kind of gal. Always wearing denim on denim, black on black, grey on grey, etc. Add a statement accessory and your favorite handbag, et voila! Looking effortlessly chic! :)

When Jil Sander came out with a lunch bag for her Fall/Winter 2012 collection, I was like, what?! You gotta be kidding me? I'm not kidding you. See it for yourself here and here. After some time, it got some getting use to. Bravo Jil Sander! You just created something so nostalgic and simplistic.  I use to carry paper lunch bags as a child. It was cool to bring lunch to school instead of waiting in the long lines. Anyways, enough of that. The point is, it kinda looks cool. Especially when you use a different fabric than paper of course. I'm currently obsessed with this basic messenger bag by Zara. It's similar to Jil Sander's, but has a wrist handle making it more clutch-like instead of 'lunch bag'. Find this bag here.
